The most important goal we have in psychotherapy is to learn to recognize aspects of ourselves that remain unknown, outside of our consciousness. Aspects that include needs, desires, fears and traumatic situations. Although people, despite this ignorance, develop a way to carry out their lives, at any given time, this possibility of regulation breaks down and symptoms that bring suffering and anguish appear.
The proposal is to work in an intimate and trustworthy environment, without value judgments to be able to explore, challenge and understand those mechanisms that for a long time helped to live, or maybe survive.
The goal is to transform this condition and get to settle in a more healthy and full.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR OURSELVES IF WE HAVE HELP.
With experience and professional solvency and self-commitment, these are some of the things that can be developed in the therapeutic process:
The ability to love others.
The ability to experience pleasure.
The possibility of undoing painful symptoms.
The possibility of developing a sense of self-worth: self-esteem.
The ability to work and be creative.
The ability to recognize and manage feelings.
